Sister: We’re learning about the food chain! Can you help me with my homework?
Me: Sure
Sister: Ok, I’ve already done some of it, but what kinds of animals eat mice?
Me: A CAT! (I am so good at this…screw law school)
Sister: No seriously!
Me: I am serious! You know, like in Tom and Jerry, Tom the cat was always trying to catch Jerry the mouse to eat him.
Sister: Huh? What’s Tom and Jerry?
Me: The cartoon!
Sister: ….
Me: Good God I’m old…

Really?!? OMG, I’m old too.
I’m going to go eat a chocolate and mourn.
In the future I’m going to force my kids to watch the cartoons I did, along with the cosby show, who’s the boss, perfect strangers, growing pains, etc.
This is sacrilege.
PS. Actually I don’t blame your sister. I was looking at some old cartoons of T & J (they were on tube) and I was like, why did I ever find those funny? Secretly I wanted Tom to win!
HAHA…I’ve had moments like those. But have you ever rewatched some of the stuff we thought was sooooo coooool? Like The A-Team? or Airwolf? I saw them recently and I had to think to myself, much like Mezba, why oh why did I watch this?
However, Looney Toons is still good, Bugs Bunny is a classic and is still enjoyable.
Really? She doesn’t know them? Oh dear…this is concerning. Kids these days…*shakes head*
I think we should have a cupcakes and fabulous cartoons night when you’re back! She can get to know all the fabulous cartoons we knew!
